ELP Mining — A Complete Mining Experience for RedM
Turn your mines into a dangerous, rewarding and fully interactive profession.
ELP Mining is a highly immersive mining system designed for RedM servers that want more than a simple „walk up, press a key and receive ore“ mining script.
Instead, players have to blast open mining spots, discover what lies beneath, work the exposed vein with a pickaxe, transport their haul with a physical mine cart and eventually move on to the next location.
The system combines explosives, mining, tool durability, stamina, hunger, thirst, transportation, dynamic resource veins and persistent mine locations into one complete gameplay loop.
💥 Blast Your Way Into the Mountain
Mining starts with dynamite.
Players place a physical dynamite charge at a designated mining spot and wait for the fuse to burn down.
But explosions are never completely predictable.
Each charge can result in:
- 💥 Normal detonation
- ⚡ Premature explosion
- 🧨 Delayed/dud explosion
- ❌ Complete misfire requiring defusing
Misfires can be defused — but even that comes with a configurable risk of the dynamite exploding during the attempt.
The system also features configurable:
- Fuse times
- Explosion radius
- Danger radius
- Damage radius
- Lethal radius
- Defusing time
- Defusing failure chance
- Explosion effects and audio
- Fuse particles
- Server-side distance validation
Mining is dangerous work.
⛏️ Discover Hidden Veins
Once a mining spot has been successfully blasted open, the server determines what kind of vein has been exposed.
A location can contain completely different resources, including:
- Coal
- Iron
- Copper
- Silver
- Gold
- Salt
- Saltpeter
- Sulfur
- Nitrite
- Barren rock
- Additional bonus resources
Every mine can have its own resource table, probabilities, swing counts and yields.
This means different mining locations can have completely different identities and economies.
A player might blast through rock expecting nothing — and suddenly uncover a valuable gold vein.
🪨 Work the Vein Until It Runs Dry
Finding a vein is only the beginning.
Players must physically work the exposed deposit with their pickaxe.
Every vein has its own:
- Possible number of swings
- Resource yield per swing
- Chance for additional resources
- Tool durability consumption
- Lifetime
- Cooldown
Once the vein is exhausted, the player must move on and find another mining spot.
This prevents players from standing at a single location farming the same resource indefinitely.
🛒 A Real Mine Cart
One of the defining features of ELP Mining is the physical mine cart system.
The cart isn't simply an invisible inventory menu.
Players actually take a mine cart with them and transport their collected resources.
The cart has its own configurable inventory with:
- Up to 1200 slots
- Stack limits
- Per-character storage
- Configurable capacity
- Physical placement
- Pickup and storage animations
And carrying a mine cart comes with restrictions.
While transporting it, players can be prevented from:
- Sprinting
- Jumping
- Using weapons
- Aiming
- Mounting
Mounting a horse can automatically stow the cart, depending on configuration.
💀 Mining Has Consequences
The mine cart isn't indestructible.
Leave it too close to a dynamite blast and the explosion can destroy the cart and everything stored inside it.
Death can also cause the cart to be dropped at the player's location instead of simply returning it to their inventory.
This creates genuine risk and makes transporting large amounts of valuable ore a meaningful decision.
🔨 Pickaxe Durability & Repairs
Pickaxes aren't infinite-use tools.
ELP Mining supports multiple pickaxe types with configurable durability and automatic server-side usage handling.
When a tool becomes damaged, players can repair it using configurable repair materials.
Durability writes can also be optimized to reduce unnecessary inventory/database operations.
💪 Stamina, Hunger & Thirst
Mining is hard physical labor.
ELP Mining features an integrated stamina system that can work alongside supported HUD systems.
Swinging the pickaxe consumes:
- Outer stamina
- Stamina core
- Hunger
- Thirst
Players who become exhausted can be forced to take a break before continuing their work.
Carrying a loaded mine cart also consumes stamina over time.
This creates a natural gameplay loop:
Mine → Exhaust yourself → Eat & drink → Continue working → Transport your haul
🗺️ Multiple Mines & Fully Configurable Locations
ELP Mining isn't locked to a single location.
The system supports multiple independent mines, each with its own:
- Name
- ID
- Map blip
- Mining spots
- Resource veins
- Resource chances
- Yields
- Mining duration
- Special resources
The included configuration demonstrates different mining environments such as:
Annesburg Mine
Coal, iron, copper, silver and gold.
Tumbleweed Mine
Salt, saltpeter, sulfur, silver and gold.
Big Valley Mine
Iron, copper, silver, gold and nitrite deposits.
Heartlands Open-Pit Mine
Coal, iron, copper, silver, gold and nitrite.
Native Mine
A separate resource profile with its own unique materials and probabilities.
🔄 Persistent Mining Locations
Mining spots can persist across server restarts.
Once a location has been exhausted, it doesn't simply magically refill when the server restarts.
The system can save mining state to the database, including exhausted locations and their cooldown state.
This makes the mining economy much more consistent and prevents simple restart-based exploitation.
🎯 Visual Mining Indicators
Mining locations can display configurable world markers showing their current state.
Players can distinguish between:
🟢 Ready to blast
🟠 Fuse burning
🟡 Misfire — requires defusing
🟡 Vein available for mining
🔴 Exhausted / cooldown
The number of simultaneously rendered markers can also be limited for performance.
💰 Server-Side Resource & Job Configuration
Resources, yields and probabilities are completely configurable.
You can define:
- Which resources can appear
- How often they appear
- How many swings a vein lasts
- How much is produced per swing
- Additional bonus resources
- Barren deposits
- Selling prices
- Job-specific multipliers
For example, mining jobs can receive different production multipliers:
MineNEU: 2.0×
MineAB: 1.5×
This makes it possible to create specialized mining companies, factions or job-based mining operations.
⭐ What Makes ELP Mining Different?
Most mining scripts reduce the entire profession to:
Walk to rock → press key → receive ore.
ELP Mining takes a completely different approach.
Find a location → transport your equipment → place dynamite → survive the blast → discover the vein → mine it with a degrading tool → manage stamina → load your cart → transport your resources → sell them → move to the next deposit.
Every part of the process can create gameplay.
The combination of physical dynamite, unpredictable explosions, discoverable veins, persistent mining spots, actual mine carts, cart destruction, tool durability and physical stamina management makes ELP Mining a genuinely different mining experience for RedM.
🔧 Highly Configurable
ELP Mining was built with configuration in mind.
Server owners can customize virtually every important aspect of the system, including:
