ELP_communicate

The Communication Network of 1899

Telegrams. Letters. Parcels. Telephone Calls. A complete communication system built for an authentic 1899 roleplay experience.

ELP_communicate transforms communication in your RedM world into an actual part of the gameplay.

No smartphones.
No modern messaging apps.
No magical player-to-player communication.

Instead, players use post offices, letters, telegrams, express deliveries and physical telephone sets placed throughout the world.

Communication becomes something players actually have to interact with.

๐Ÿ“ฎ A Real Postal Network

ELP_communicate connects towns, settlements and remote locations through a fully configurable postal network.

Every station can have its own unique code, becoming part of the server's communication infrastructure.

For example:

SD โ€“ Saint Denis
RH โ€“ Rhodes
VA โ€“ Valentine
BW โ€“ Blackwater
AN โ€“ Annesburg
TW โ€“ Tumbleweed
SB โ€“ Strawberry
NA โ€“ Wapiti

These station codes can be used throughout the postal and communication system.

The result is a communication network that actually feels like part of the world.

โœ‰๏ธ Letters

Players can write and send letters through the postal system.

Letters are perfect for communication that should feel personal, official or clandestine.

Use them for:

  • Business offers
  • Personal messages
  • Love letters
  • Threats
  • Invitations
  • Political communication
  • Gang correspondence
  • Sheriff reports
  • Business transactions
  • RP contracts and agreements

A letter isn't just another chat message.

It becomes a physical piece of communication within your world.

โšก Telegrams

When communication needs to be faster, players can use the telegraph.

Send telegrams between stations and deliver important information without requiring players to travel across the entire map.

Perfect for:

Sheriffs

"Wanted man last seen in Valentine."

Business owners

"The shipment has arrived. Meet me in Rhodes tonight."

Gangs

"The goods have arrived. Come after sunset."

Private citizens

"Your brother is safe. We will meet tomorrow."

Telegram communication creates an entirely different style of roleplay.

Fast, useful and historically appropriate.

โ˜Ž๏ธ Telephone โ€” The 1899 Way

One of the most unique features of ELP_communicate:

A telephone belongs to a location โ€” not to a player.

A telephone is a physical communication device installed at a specific location.

For example:

Hotel Saint Denis
A Saloon
Sheriff Office Valentine
A Mining Company Office
A Ranch Headquarters

A player calls a telephone number.

The physical telephone at that location rings.

Whoever happens to be standing next to that telephone can answer it.

That's it.

And that's precisely what makes it interesting.

๐Ÿ“ž No Magical Player-to-Player Calling

ELP_communicate deliberately avoids the standard modern approach:

Player A โ†’ Player B โ†’ Player B receives a call

Instead:

Telephone A โ†’ Telephone Number โ†’ Telephone B

The person receiving the call must actually be at the telephone.

This creates completely new RP situations.

A company might have a telephone in its office.

A sheriff's office might have one behind the front desk.

A hotel might have one at reception.

A saloon might have one behind the bar.

Suddenly, the telephone itself becomes an actual location-based gameplay element.

๐Ÿค Create Your Own Communication Stations

ELP_communicate isn't limited to traditional post offices.

You can turn virtually any location into a communication station.

For example:

  • Hotels
  • Saloons
  • Ranches
  • Mines
  • Factories
  • Businesses
  • Train stations
  • Sheriff offices
  • Police stations
  • Prisons
  • Military forts
  • Private residences
  • Newspaper offices

Every station can have its own rules and services.

๐Ÿ”’ Jobs, Ranks & Private Communication

Not every communication device needs to be publicly accessible.

ELP_communicate supports configurable access restrictions including:

  • Job restrictions
  • Minimum job ranks
  • Private telephone numbers
  • Free calls
  • Custom station pricing
  • Service restrictions
  • Contraband inspection mechanics

For example:

A sheriff's telephone could be restricted to law enforcement.

A company telephone could only be answered by employees.

A private business line could remain completely hidden from the public directory.

This gives server owners complete control over their communication infrastructure.

๐Ÿ“ฆ Express & Parcel Services

Communication doesn't stop at letters and telegrams.

ELP_communicate can also function as part of your server's postal and logistics infrastructure.

Players can send packages and express deliveries between stations.

For example:

Saint Denis โ†’ Blackwater

Rhodes โ†’ Annesburg

Valentine โ†’ Tumbleweed

This turns the postal service into something much more than a messaging system.

It becomes part of your server's economy and logistics.

๐Ÿ•ต๏ธ Postal Inspections & Contraband

Not every package has to arrive safely.

Individual stations can have their own configurable inspection probabilities.

This opens the door to completely new types of roleplay:

  • Smuggling
  • Criminal investigations
  • Prison communication
  • Gang operations
  • Illegal trade
  • Police investigations
  • Contraband transportation

A prison station can have extremely strict inspections.

A remote settlement might barely inspect anything.

Every location can have its own rules.

๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ A Fully Configurable Network

The entire communication infrastructure can be configured to match your server.

You can define:

  • Postal stations
  • Station codes
  • Locations
  • Coordinates
  • Telephone numbers
  • Telephone locations
  • Telephone models
  • Jobs
  • Minimum ranks
  • Prices
  • Available services
  • Private lines
  • Blips
  • Inspection chances
  • Special station rules

You can therefore build a communication network that is completely unique to your server.

โ˜Ž๏ธ Custom Telephone Numbers

Every telephone can receive its own unique number.

For example:

SD-0002
Hotel Saint Denis

SD-0003
Saloon Saint Denis

VA-0002
Sheriff Valentine

RH-0002
Business Office Rhodes

The numbering system can be expanded to match the structure of your server.

๐ŸŽญ Communication as Gameplay

ELP_communicate wasn't designed to simply add another chat system to RedM.

It was designed to make communication itself part of roleplay.

You don't simply send a message and continue walking.

You go to the post office.

You write a letter.

You send a telegram.

You wait for a response.

You travel to the telephone.

You call a specific location.

You wait for somebody to answer.

You pick up the receiver.

Communication becomes gameplay.

๐Ÿ† Why ELP_communicate?

Most communication scripts try to bring modern messaging systems and smartphones into RedM.

ELP_communicate deliberately goes in the opposite direction.

It doesn't ask:

"How can we bring WhatsApp to 1899?"

It asks:

"How did communication actually work in 1899 โ€” and how can we turn that into gameplay?"

The result is more than a messaging system.

It creates locations, journeys, encounters, waiting, logistics and new roleplay opportunities.

Communication becomes part of the world.
